LAHORE - A court on Thursday extended physical remand of Raymond Davis on the request of the investigation officer in double-murder case, however, the court granted him bail in carrying illegal weapons case. The court directed police to produce the accused again before the court on February 11. David, who was arrested for killing two Pakistanis and carrying illegal arms, was produced in the court before court timings amidst tight security with the media kept at a distance. Investigation Officer (IO) Inspector Munir Ahmed sought extension in physical remand of the accused from the court, taking plea that police needed more time to investigate the mater as the accused was not cooperating with the investigation team. Davis is continuously refusing to answer the questions asked by the interrogators, he told the court, adding that the accused had not tell the investigation team anything about the vehicle that crushed a third man to death. The IO said those who crushed the man would be traced if Davis cooperated with police. When asked by the court, Davis said he opened fire on the two motorcyclists in self-defence, fearing that they were about to rob him. Police said they recovered a Glock pistol, four loaded magazines, a GPS navigation system and small telescope from his car. The court granted eight-day physical remand of Davis to police in the double-murder case, while Davis got bail in carrying illegal weapons case against the submission of Rs 100,000 surety bonds which, according to sources, was not submitted by the accused.
