In occupied Kashmir, women staged a sit-in against the killing of two sisters in Sopore town. The protesters, carrying placards, were demanding to know why the two sisters were shot dead. The teenage sisters were dragged and kidnapped by unidentified gunmen from their house in the Muslim Peer locality of the town and killed near Takiabal Mohalla on Monday evening. According to Kashmir Media Service, the banners reading as, "The killers should be punished" and "What was the crime of the two sisters?" The women protesters, while expressing concern over the unabated killings in Kashmir mostly women, said that women in Kashmir were being victimised for many years and those responsible for the heinous crime should be identified. They said that Asiya and Neelofar were killed in 2008 in Shopian and ironically, the killers were not yet identified and punished. On the other hand, an insane middle-aged woman went missing from her house at Manjakote in Mendhar area of Poonch. She had gone to a nearby forest for grazing her animals but did not return, said a relative of the missing woman. Meanwhile, dead body of a boy was recovered near railway bridge from Levdoora in Qazigund while another person was killed, while two others suffered injuries in different road accidents across the Valley.
