Gang involved in street crimes smashed

LAHORE: Police on Monday claimed to have smashed a gang of robbers by arresting its three members involved in several armed robberies. The police have recovered stolen motorcycles, cash, mobile phones and illegal weapons from their possession.
A police spokesman said that the arrested bandits have confessed to more than 25 incidents of street crimes during preliminary investigation.
SP City (Division) Imtiaz Sarwar constituted a special police team headed by SHO Shafiqabad Husnain Haider to hunt down the criminals involved in street crimes. The police team collected particulars of the gangsters and arrested three members of Mana dacoit gang. The arrested bandits were identified as Shakeel, alias Mana, Arif Masih, Safdar Hussain, and Akram. Police said that the arrested bandits had a history of crimes. The police are conducting raids to arrest the fifth member of the gang, who is still at large. Lahore Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Chaudhry Shafiq Ahmed has announced cash prizes and commendatory certificates for the police team.–Staff Reporter
