BUILDING BY-LAWS: The District Government decided on Tuesday to demolish all buildings and plazas constructed in violation of building by-laws.

Sources said that DCO Zahid Saleem Gondal has issued instructions to the concerned officials of all towns to evolve lists of all buildings constructed without approval of construction plan and in violation of building by-laws so that final notices for the demolition of these buildings can be issued to the owners. The DCO took serious notice of parking problems and security issues taking place due to the illegal buildings.

Meanwhile, chairing a meeting here on Tuesday, the DCO directed the concerned officials to carry out a survey of all roads and chowks to locate illegal constructions and encroachments. “Complete the survey in three days and get registered terrorism cases against those involved in constructing illegal buildings on roadsides and at chowks,” he issued order. He said that some opportunists sold out even roads under the guise of fake housing schemes but the district administration was determined to launch crackdown against such elements.
