islamabad - A local court yesterday sent an official of Capital Development Authority to Adiala Jail on judicial remand for his alleged role in establishing illegal slum in the federal capital.

Senior Civil Judge Abdul Ghafoor Kakar conducted hearing of the case and sent the accused Bilal Zafar to Adiala Jail on the request of Federal Investigation Agency.

The FIA arrested the accused Bilal who is inspector enforcement in CDA for his alleged role of facilitator in establishing a slum in Sector H-9. He was also accused of receiving money from the people to provide them government’s land.

During the hearing, the FIA officials produced him before the court and submitted an application saying that they had completed their investigations in this matter and they did not want his further physical custody.

In the matter of establishment of illegal slums, the court has sent 24 officials to jail and 7 officials have obtained interim bail while 14 other officials have been declared as proclaimed offenders.
