LAHORE - Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has said that there is no bigger obligation than serving the public and the PML-N has made records of development whenever it came to power.
In a statement on Saturday, the CM said billions of rupees have been spent to provide basic facilities to the people and these projects have provided relief to the people.
He said modern medical machinary has been provided at the DHQs that is part of the mission of the government to provide best health facilities to the people at their doorsteps.
He said the first phase of the first of its kind in the country the Pakistan Liver and Kidney Transplant Institute has been inaugurated and it is providing free medical treatment to needy patients. He said the Punjab Education Endowment Fund has been set up so that needy but talented students could continue their education.
He continued: “We are utilising all our capacities and resources for the welfare of the people but the dharna party has made its job to criticize welfare projects of the government instead of serving the people and the people will not forgive the dharna party for impeding path of progress. “Those who criticise public welfare projects of the PML-N government should tell the people about their performance. The politics of allegations has no connection with the public service and the opposition to Orange Line has exposed and proved public enmity of the dharna party.”
Against the backdrop of ongoing international situation, he said, Pakistan cannot tolerate negative politics anyway. The defeated political elements should therefore understand ground realities, he added. He lamented that past rulers left no stone unturned to plunder national resources in their tenure and added that those who looted the national resources mercilessly and expanded their network of corruption could not be loyal to the nation. “These people have pushed the country to deprivation and darkness and as a result people had to suffer heavily. Had these people paid attention to solution of problems of people in their tenure, the country would have been known as a developed state now.
The elements that plundered the hard-earned money of this poor nation and tried to impede the process of development through sit-ins cannot be loyal to people and the state of Pakistan.
