LAHORE - Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah Khan presented his point of view on Khatme Nabuwat before a committee constituted after a meeting between Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Pir Hameeduddin Sialvi last week.
The minister had allegedly issued some questionable statements about Ahmadis.
Appearing before the committee, Rana Sana explained that he had firm faith in the finality of the prophethood and that no one could be a Muslim unless he rests faith in Khatme Nabuwat (SAW). The law minister further told the committee that finality of prophethood of Hazrat Muhammad (SAW) was an essential article of Islamic belief and one deviating from it could not be called Muslim.
The committee comprised Punjab Minister Zaeem Hussain Qadri, Maulana Rahmat Ullah, Pir Nizamuddin Sialvi and others.
According to media reports, the committee expressed satisfaction over the statement of the law minister and decided to apprise Pir Hameeduddin Sialvi about the same. The members of the committee who did not attend the meeting, will also be informed about Rana Sana’s explanation.
Meanwhile, Pir Qasim Sialvi, son of Pir Hameeduddin Sialvi, has rejected the meeting held to seek explanation from Law Minister Sana.
Talking to media yesterday, Pir Qasim Sialvi said that the Pir of Sial had to form the committee and the government had to present Rana Sanaullah. “We are neither satisfied with the committee nor with its formation. What will be the legal status of the committee when its head, Pir Mudassar Taunsvi, did not attend the meeting?” he questioned.
He said that the people attending the meeting were not related to the Dargah Sharif. “It is not the committee as promised by Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif. Rana Sanaullah had to appear as an accused, but the footage shows he is presiding over the committee,” he said.
