Benazir Bhutto, known as Daughter of the East, was a fearless and very determined leader. On her first death anniversary, let us all pay tribute to this great leader who fought all her life to make this country a democratic state. She was bold and daring and made one think that sky is the limit to her potential. I take her as a role model because of her larger than life persona. She gave light to all women struggling for a place in this male-oriented society. I pray for her with all my heart and commend her achievements. Had she been alive today, this country would have been going through a different kind of transition. She gave her life for democracy. Let us all make her dreams come true by giving something to this land of ours. -EHTISHAM MALIK, Islamabad, via e-mail, December 27.
