The inauguration of the first mobile health unit in the history of Pakistan in Daira Din Pannah, district Muzaffargarh of southern Punjab last month is welcome news. The aim of starting mobile health service is to provide best medical facilities to the people of far-flung areas of the province at their doorstep. This mobile health unit will provide facilities of treatment and diagnostic. These health units are being provided to the far-flung and backward districts of the province. Schedule of these mobile units will be issued every month regularly and these mobile health units will provide treatment facilities to the particular districts according to the schedule. There will be an ambulance with each mobile unit so that serious patients could be shifted to the concerned hospital. Due to this revolutionary step of Chief Minister Punjab, this hospital will be available to the people at their doorstep. Other provinces also need to take such measures.
