I read with great pleasure and envy, a small news item in a national daily that the good Iranian President Ahmedenejad has put his only personal car, a 1977 Peugeot 405, for sale in an international auction. The money would go to a fund for building of 60,000 houses for widows who are trying to work for a living. So far one million US dollars have been offered. What a noble gesture What display of human feelings And oh what a wonderful man But what do we have? Leaders, from top to bottom, who are avidly selling the state and countrys interests and assets for their own homes and swelling up their Swiss accounts. AYAZ AHMAD, Rawalpindi, January 3.
