Foggy Friday forecast


LAHORE – The provincial capital will remain under foggy condition during the next 24 hours. According to the met office report, minimum temperature on Thursday was recorded 3.6 C, while maximum temperature was 11 C.
The officials of department said the cold weather had been gripping parts of Punjab with dense fog and also causing problems for travelers for a week and mainly cold and dry weather was expected in most parts of the country during the next 24 hours.
Severe cold wave conditions would continue to prevail over upper areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Balochistan during the next few days, reported PTV.  Dense foggy condition is likely to intensify in the plains of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and upper areas of Sindh during the next several days.
On the other hand, the Motorway remained closed from Lahore to Balaksar interchange and Pindi Bhattian to Faisalabad interchange due to poor visibility.
The Motorway Police said the highway had been closed as visibility level dropped to zero. They said the vehicular traffic was diverted to the GT Road via Chakwal interchange, private news channel reported.
The police urged drivers to drive slowly and switch on fog lights. They also requested people to stay at home and avoid unnecessary traveling. On the other hand, the flight operations of PIA remained normal.
