LAHORE – Gangsters on Thursday continued the looting spree in the provincial capital, robbed three residences, looted families and motorists at gunpoint and fled away after collecting cash and gold ornaments worth Rs 3 million.

Police sources claimed armed bandits hit the City for several times successfully and fled away despite the police were put on high-alert to ensure foolproof security on the Chehlum of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA).  Five gunmen barged into the house of Faisal Rabbani in the Ghalib Market police limits and snatched away cash, gold ornaments and other valuables worth Rs 800,000.  Three robbers stormed into the house of Muzaffar Ahmed in the Raiwind police vicinity and took away cash, gold ornaments and other valuables worth Rs 500,000 after holding the inmates’ hostage at gunpoint.  Armed bandits forced their entry into the house of Ali Muhammad in the Shahdara Town police precincts and escaped after collecting cash and gold ornaments worth Rs 400,000.  Two robbers riding on a motorcycle intercepted the family of Muhammad Arif in the limits of Baghbanpura police and deprived them of cash and gold ornaments worth Rs 400,000 at gunpoint.  In other road robberies, which took place in Sundar, Iqbal Town, Ghalib Market and Islampura police areas, the robbers held up families and motorists at gunpoint and fled away after snatching cash and gold ornaments worth hundreds of thousands of rupees.  Meanwhile, six cars were driven away from the Model Town, Sattu Katla, Baghbanpura, Ghalib Market, Johar Town and Islampura police limits.
