OKARA - Terming Bilawal Bhutto's launching his political career an addition to the dynastic politics of the country, Jamaat-e-Islami Secretary General Liaqat Baloch said that his party would make alliance with any party except the PPP, PML-Q, MQM and ANP for the general elections.

Flanked by JI Okara Ameer Capt (r) Dr Liaqat Ali Kausar, he told the media that his party was fully prepared for the elections. Baloch said all the democratic forces should stand united for timely elections. If elections are postponed, all the democratic forces will resist it, he said.

"Long march and demands are the rights of every party but any hurdle or delay in the elections will not be endured. America and India are enemies of Pakistan. It is the need of the hour that the nation should get united under the umbrella of Jamaat-e-Islami. The enforcement of Islamic principles in Pakistan far away," he said.

PARAMEDICS' STRIKE: The Paramedic Alliance Punjab has announced to start protests in all the hospitals across the province and stage a sit-in in front of the Chief Minister's Secretarial for getting service structure and allowance.

Addressing a press conference, PPA Chairman Malik Munir Ahmad along with Okara President Syed Najaf Ali Shah and Vice President Shahid Latif demanded that the employees from scale 1 to 4 should be given service structure and Rs1,500 health allowance. In spite of issuance of a notification from Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, it was not being implemented. The chairman also announced that the paramedical staff would perform their duties by wearing black arm ribbons till 7th in all the hospitals and go on strike on 8th.

"The wards of the hospitals except emergencies will remain closed. The employees will protest and stage sit-ins in the lawns of hospitals," he added.

Police accused of sheltering accused: A farmer accused the City Police ASI of sheltering a culprit who, he said, had  sodomised his seven-year-old son a month ago.

Ghulam Qamber, a resident of Chak 331-JB while addressing a press conference along with his son Shahzad Ali, Awami Jamhoori Party district general secretary Tariq Mahmood and Commission for Human Rights Tehsil President Syed Safdar Hussain Kazmi said that on November 24, accused Niaz Khan took his son to an orchard where he sodomised him and threatened to kill him if he report the incident to anybody.

He said that the City Police had registered a case, but ASI Javed Masih was allegedly not arresting the accused.

He alleged that the ASI had received Rs5,000 bribe from him. He claimed that the ASI was forcing him to reconcile with the accused otherwise fake cases would be registered against him.
