Karlie Kloss knocks Arizona Muse off the top spot

THE fashion world was so taken by her that they named her ‘the body’. Countless high-end fashion houses clamoured to snap her up as the face of their campaigns. She posed for the world’s top photographers and made it onto the front cover of numerous magazines.
So it comes as no surprise that Karlie Kloss has been voted Vogue’s top model of the year. The stunning 20-year-old, who was the most featured model in Vogue 2009 editions, has knocked last year’s number one Arizona Muse from the top spot.
The St Louis native, who has remained in Vogue’s top three for the past two years, beat Toni Garnn, Isabeli Fontana and Joan Smalls to the much coveted crown. Karlie stole the title from Arizona Muse (who is this year’s second place) after appearing in original editorials for nine international Vogue editions and appearing in a total of 20 issues. Better yet, almost half of her appearances were in the infamous and top selling March and September issues.
Karlie was discovered at a local benefit runway show and in 2007 she signed with Elite Model Management. Her first modelling appearance was for Abercrombie and Fitch and in 2008 she walked 31 runways in New York Fashion Week and closed for Marc Jacob’s iconic show. Her success spanned much further than the American coasts too. She went on to walk 20 shows in Milan, 13 in Paris and was named the best model by People magazine the same year.
She has featured in advertisements for every major fashion house from Alexander McQueen and YSL to Dolce & Gabbana and Louis Vuitton, and has, of course, walked the Victoria’s Secret runway.                –Daily Mail
