KARACHI - The Managing Director of Karachi Water and Sewerage Board (KWSB), Misbahuddin Farid, has taken notice of the shortage of water in Akhtar Colony, Qayyumabad, Hazara Colony, DHA, Korangi and adjoining areas of the city.He directed the concerned officials that immediate steps should be taken to improve the provision of water supply in the affected areas.The KWSB chief also instructed that for ensuring supply of additional water, the hydrant located at Chakra Goth should be closed with immediate effect.Addressing a meeting of the officials of the KWSB, Misbah said that the purpose of the organisation is to provide water and sewerage facilities to the people.He said that this task is performed by about 14,000 personnel of KWSB and that more than 200 pumping stations are working under the KWSB.Misbah also warned that no dereliction would tolerate and action would be initiated against those officers in whose jurisdiction there are complaints of water shortage.
