ISLAMABAD - National Assembly Standing Committee on Housing on Thursday showed displeasure over the poor living condition of Federal Lodges and urged the concerned quarters to redress the issue. The committee was held at the Parliament House under the chairmanship of Pervaiz Khan Advocate. The committee directed the Ministry and Estate Office to provide the list of illegal occupants and people who have already been given the accommodation before the Supreme Court judgment.

The committee also expressed displeasure over the non-responding attitude of Ministry of Housing regarding the recommendations already sent to them for implementation and compliance.  

Later, the committee was briefed on the composition and working of the Estate Office with a special reference to the prevailing allotment policy for the allotment of Houses/Flats.

The committee was apprised about the organizational chart, sanctioned strength, functions of Estate Office and government accommodations.

The committee was informed about the prevailing policy for allotment of government as per Supreme Court Judgment dated 19.10.2011 in detail.

Pakistan Housing Authority (PHA), briefed the committee on completed and ongoing Housing Projects.

The meeting was attended by Syed Alla-ud-din, Nazir Ahmad Bughio, Tariq Mahmood Bajwa, Sh Afttab Ahmad, Mrs Khalida Mansoor, Mian Marghoob Ahmad, Mrs. Tahira Aurangzeb, Dr Ghulam Haider Samejo, Mrs Nosheen Saeed, Syed Asif Hussain, Iqbal Muhammad Ali and Senior Officers of the Ministry, PHAF and Estate Office.
