SIALKOT - Defiant young doctors shut the outdoor patents departments (OPDs) at both the DHQ hospitals - Govt  Allama Iqbal Memorial DHQ Civil Hospital and Govt Sardar Begum Memorial Hospital here on Thursday.  They refused to check patients in a bid to express solidarity with the Gujranwala based young doctors who thrashed and manhandled the medical Superintendent and their senior colleagues during an anti-hospital management demonstration.

In Sialkot, the young doctors also created hurdles to halt their senior colleagues from performing duty. Meanwhile, most of the young doctors remained absent from duty at THQ hospitals in Daska, Sambrial and Pasrur due to which the patients suffered great ordeal in getting medical treatment.

The young doctors also observed a strike and demanded immediate release of the arrested young doctors and withdrawal of cases registered against the protesting young doctors in Gujranwala. They announced to continue their strike till the release of young colleagues.
