ISLAMABAD - Capital Development Authority has engaged paint companies and other multinational corporations in the process of beatification of the city. These paint companies and multinational corporations are busy beautifying the capital city at their own without any financial obligation on the part of CDA. The process to beautify the entire city will be completed in phases by these paint companies and multinational corporations, senior official of CDA told The nation on Friday.

He further said that these paint companies and multinational corporations in first phase of the beautification process have painted curve stones and have beautified medians and green areas on road from Zero Point to Faisal Mosque. The second phase will start soon and in the second phase the road from Faizabad to Serena Hotel will be beautified. He further added that entire city would be beautified without any expense on the pat of CDA.

He also said Chairman CDA Maroof Afzal chaired a follow-up meeting on the satellite imaging of all the acquired sectors of Islamabad by Pakistan Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO). The SUPARCO representatives briefed the Chairman CDA about the project in detail and presented the prototype slide imaging of two sectors i.e. D-12 and E-12. The chairman CDA asked them for further improvements and asked them to complete the satellite imaging of all the acquired sectors.

He said that this satellite imaging would be utilized at the time of announcing awards to make it more open and transparent and hassle free. It would also be helpful in curbing the encroachments in the city, he added. He also said that this satellite imaging will be integrated in the building control section to make this process transparent.

Earlier member Administration Capital Development Authority Amir Ali Ahmed said that CDA is vigilant about food outlets working in violation of law in the Capital city.

In this regard Directorate of Municipal Administration took action against a restaurant situated in F-7/1, Marvi Road, which was operating without trade licence. The restaurant was found involved in non-conforming use of the premises and it was also providing non-Halal food. All these acts were in violation of municipal bylaws.

He directed Directorate of Municipal Administration to raid the said restaurant, which has confiscated the boards and banners.
