Mobilink expands largest footprint of BVS Pakistan

LAHORE (Staff Reporter): Mobilink has established the largest Biometric Verification System (BVS) for sale of SIMs at 480 locations in 243 cities across Pakistan. The expansion of implementation of the BVS is in line with the guidelines of the PTA to ensure transparency and accuracy in the sale of SIMs. In this process a total of 409 franchisees, 40 Customer Care Centers and 31 Business Connect Centers have been equipped with state-of-the-art hardware and software to support the biometric verification process.

Mobilink successfully installed the BVS system at more the 400 locations in Pakistan within the deadline of December 20,, 2013 set by the PTA. In order to ensure customer satisfaction and unparalleled adherence to the regulations set by the PTA, Mobilink has completed the training of more than 550 representatives of the Mobilink Sales Teams and Customer Care Representatives as well as Franchise Owners and Customer Support Executives across Pakistan.

In the first phase of the BVS roll-out, Mobilink set up the largest footprint of BVS in Karachi within the PTA set deadline of November 30, 2013. The BVS footprint was rolled across Pakistan in the second phase. The BVS will be utilized to make all the New Sales Activations as well as cater to the Transfer of Ownership cases for the customers. The BVS verification system will continue to work in in parallel with the 789 verification system to ensure maximum security.

Education Benchmarks collaborates with MIIM

PTCL holds workshop

ISLAMABAD (PR): Pakistan Telecommunications Company Limited (PTCL) has held an innovative program for children of PTCL employees, aimed towards nurturing the children to be more responsible, creative and tolerant of differences.

The objective of the day long program was to increase the ability of the children to think for themselves, take initiatives, get along with others and solve problems by recognizing the potentials that they are gifted with.

Syed Mazhar Hussain, PTCL Chief Human Resource Officer (CHRO) while speaking at the occasion said that, “We at PTCL believe that not only the employees but their families are also an integral part of the PTCL family. The workshop was designed to enable children to learn essential life skills and characteristics to drive their lives and thrive in a more effective manner”.

The children were awarded certificates and souvenirs by Syed Mazhar Hussain CHRO, and also enjoyed the highly interactive program arranged by the PTCL training department for their learning.

TPL Direct Insurance, Tameer Bank sign MoU

KARACHI (PR): TPL Direct Insurance Limited, Pakistan’s only direct insurance company, has partnered with Tameer Microfinance Bank and has signed an agreement to launch micro-health insurance covers to targeted customers residing in small cities and villages with no access to financial institutions.

‘Tameer Sehat-O-Sukoon’, is a health micro-insurance product that will be offered to low-income individuals to provide them with quality health care when they need it most.

It is an in-patient product, which offers cashless access to health services with coverage worth Rs. 40,000 against an annual premium of Rs. 700. It will be rolled out stage-wise across all Tameer Bank Touch Points throughout Pakistan and will be available for Tameer Bank customers as well as non-Tameer Bank customers.

The aim of this initiative is to provide access to formal insurance that protects against health risks such as severe or chronic illnesses, accidents, and obstructed births. These shocks are particularly damaging for poor households who are more vulnerable and less able to absorb the financial consequences of such events.
