Local farmers of Jamaldin Wali here have demanded that the sugar mills should provide them with relief, facilitate them regarding acquisition of permits and improve their behaviour towards the growers.

They also appealed to former Punjab governor Makhdoom Ahmad Mehmood, Jehangir Tareen and Murtaza Mehmood to immediately terminate JDW Sugar Mills’ Jamaldin Wali circle in-charge Liaqat Ali and appoint an honest person aware of etiquette and manner at the post. They alleged that the present circle in-charge was corrupt.

The demand was made by Fattowal’s farmers namely Haji Basheer Ahmad, Rehmat Ali, Ejaz, Farzand Ali, Nematullah, Ahmad Din, Asghar and Nizam Din while they were talking to the media. They said that the official treat with the farmers rudely and aggressively. They added that the in-charge had jolted local landlord Bahseer Ahmad out of his office the other day besides hurling a stream of abuse at him. The victim alleged that the in-charge sells out permits and demanded that the administration should look into the issue and take a stern action against him.

PROBLEMS LEFT UNRESOLVED: People in various parts of Sadiqabad are faced with low pressure of gas. The residents said that the PML-N was  running the federal and Punjab governments thus there was no excuse for the party leaders to delay a solution to the problems being faced by the people. Thus, they said, the MNA concerned should take personal interest in solving the problem in Sadiqabad tehsil.

The “negligent” officials and personnel of TMA and Sanitation Department have failed to maintain drainage system in the city, they said. In the poor state of affairs, the shopkeepers have opted for putting wooden pieces in front of their shops for customers to reach inside the business setups avoiding sewage water accumulated. Moreover, accumulated sewage water in commercial was irritating the populace.
