ISLAMABAD - The private schools associations have decided not to follow the federal government's decision to close down the institutes till January 11, leaving it up to the every individual institute to decide itself according to the academic schedule.

President All Pakistan Private Schools and Colleges Association Malik Abrar said that they have decided to leave it to the schools and colleges to open or close the institutes. "Majority of the private schools are open and opening timings of the schools are also the same that is 8:30 am. People were back from their hometowns after spending winter vacations and weather condition have also been better for the last two days so schools have decided to remain open." He said that there was no need to announce vacations now as academic session is about to end and the teachers have to complete courses.

The Capital Administration and Development Division (CADD) had announced Thursday late night that all public schools working under the Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) would remain closed due to cold weather from Friday till January 11.

As the decision was taken too late no body knew it till morning and many students and teachers turned up at their respective institutes.  CADD Spokesperson and Joint Educational Advisor Rafique Tahir said the CADD Secretary took the decision very late so they could not inform the schools and colleges on time.

He said if the weather conditions get better they may cancel the vacation as well.
