Sartaj for enhancing Pak-Sweden trade ties

ISLAMABAD - Ambassador of the Kingdom of Sweden, Tomas Rosander, who presented his credentials recently, paid a courtesy call on Sartaj Aziz, Advisor to the Prime Minister on National Security and Foreign Affairs, on Friday.
The Advisor highlighted the priorities of the present government for improving the economy and emphasised the need for enhancing bilateral trade between Pakistan and Sweden by exchanging business and investors’ delegations. He specially thanked Sweden for its valuable support in the European Union for attaining GSP Plus.
Discussing the regional situation, the Adviser briefed the Swedish ambassador on the government’s desire to improve relations with all countries in the neighbourhood. He stated that Pakistan wanted friendly and cordial ties with India and Afghanistan. He stressed that it was imperative that there should be peace in the region, which was a prerequisite for economic development and welfare of the people.
The Swedish ambassador thanked the advisor on his comprehensive briefing on the region. He assured the advisor that Sweden values its ties with Pakistan and looks towards enhancing Pakistan-Swedish bilateral cooperation with special emphasis on increasing bilateral trade.
