LAHORE: Unknown extremists attacked a candlelight vigil, which was organized in remembrance of the Ex- Punjab governor Salman Taseer who was assassinated by Mumtaz Qadri , his own security guard, for demanding modification in Pakistan’s blasphemy laws in 2011.

Civil society had gathered at Liberty Chowk to light candles for late Salman Taseer , when the miscreants had carried out the attack. They tore banners, posters and harassed the civil society members. Many of the activists flee for their lives and some of them were injured in the sudden eruption of violence. The attackers fled from the scene before the police arrived. DCO Captain (retd) Mohammad Usman took notice of the incident and ordered his team to arrest the culprits without delay.

A strong reaction can be witnessed on social media and demand of immediate arrests is trending.
