Rawalpindi - Police held a flag march on city’s roads to create sense of security among the people on the occasion of Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) here on Saturday.

The flag march, supervised by Superintendent of Police (SP) Rawal Division Karamat Ullah Malik, started from Police Line Number 1 and culminated at its starting point after marching on city’s all roads including Airport Road, Rawal Road and Peshawar Road.

Besides well-equipped commandoes of Elite Force, the flag march was participated by sub-divisional police officers, station house officers and cops.

Meanwhile, Rawalpindi police, following the instructions of City Police Officer Humayun Bashir Tarar, carried out a search operation within the limits of Police Station Royal Artillery (RA) Bazaar to purge the localities of suspected elements.

During the search operation, which was conducted under the supervision of SP Potohar Division Muhammad Ateeque Tahir, a total of 122 houses were checked while 220 people including 80 tenants and 42 landlords have been grilled by the police.

The police spokesman said that officials and personnel of other law enforcement agencies also assisted Rawalpindi police during the search operation.
