LOS ANGELES - US actress Zoe Saldana announced Friday she had given birth to twin boys, Cy and Bowie, with her Italian artist husband Marco Perego.

‘Happy #2015! Starting our #NewYear with a fullhouse,’ the ‘Avatar’ star wrote on her Twitter account. ‘Our boys are finally here. Thank you for all the beautiful wishes,’ she added, posting a photo of two bottles and two stuffed animals.

The twins were born November 27, according to a statement Friday from Saldana's representative, but the 36-year-old actress had not previously announced the news. ‘Mother and sons are happy and healthy,’ the statement said, adding that the family was ‘appreciative of the respect of their privacy during this exciting time.’ Saldana, also known for her role in ‘Star Trek Into Darkness,’ married Perego in 2013. Moreover, And the insider added that these two babies are likely to be the first of many, telling the publication: 'Both want a big family so this is the start.'

Various celebrities took to social media to congratulate the couple on their baby news. Designer Prabal Gurung posted a collage to Instagram of Zoe wearing a red dress from his line, with the caption: 'Congratulations to my dearest darling friend and my muse @zoesaldana and her husband on the arrival of their twins. Meanwhile, Gabirelle Beauvais tweeted on Friday: 'Congrats to @zoesaldana on the birth of her twins from a #twinmommy to another.'

Zoe was last seen on Nov 24 in Los Angeles, on an outing with her artist husband. Earlier that month, the couple were spotted househunting, presumably looking for a family home to move into with their two new arrivals.

Zoe and Marco married in June 2013 in a secret ceremony in London after just three months of dating. The Guardians Of The Galaxy star acknowledged her pregnancy for the first time in August when she was already sporting a blossoming baby bump. Zoe told the September issue of Cosmopolitan For Latinas that she and Marco plan to speak Spanish to their children and raise them as bilingual.
