Today is 8th death anniversary of former Punjab Governor Salmaan Taseer, who had a long career both as a successful businessman and politician. He was elected to Punjab Assembly on PPP ticket in 1980, and later served as caretaker minister. He was appointed as 26th Governor of Punjab in May 2008, a position he served on until his assassination in 2011.
