OUR STAFF REPORTER LAHORE The Punjab government has sent a summary to the Punjab Governor for the enforcement of Drug Act in the province in the light of 18th Amendment in the Constitution and he will issue an ordinance for this purpose, said spokesman of the Punjab government on Sunday. He said that prior to the 18th Amendment, registration of medicines, issuance of manufacturing licenses and fixation of the prices of medicines was undertaken at the federal level but now these responsibilities have been devolved to the provinces. The spokesman said that in the light of 18th Amendment, the Punjab government will evolve a comprehensive strategy with the consultation of pharmaceutical industry for resolving its problems at the local level. He said that as a result of enforcement of Drug Act, quality medicines will become available to the citizens at the proper price and complaints of the people in this regard will also be addressed.
