LAHORE– The police force would have to remain vigilant and alert to eliminate the criminals from the Punjab province as the overweight police officers could not help get the required results.

At least 60 cops of Elite Force who were serving in Mujahid Squad have been withdrawn as they failed to reduce the weight according to the required standard.

Inspector General of Police (IGP) Punjab Habibur Rehman stated this while talking to media persons at Central Police Office on Tuesday.

The police chief said that the process of measurement of waist-line of police officials is underway across the province and it would be completed by July 7. The next strategy in this regard would be announced after receiving the reports.

The police officers who managed to reduce the waist-line slightly, could be given further time to reduce it to the required standard.
