KARACHI – Government of Punjab should pay sympathetic behaviour towards the demands of doctors, while all removed doctors should be restored to their jobs at once. These demands were jointly made by the leaders of Pakistan Medical Association Sindh, Sindh Doctor’s Welfare Association and YDA Sindh in a meeting. The demands included the Punjab government would unconditionally release all doctors from the police custody. And all false and fabricated criminal cases against such doctors should be withdrawn. The meeting was attended by Sindh PMA President Dr Samrina Hashmi, G Secretary PMA Sindh Dr Hadi Bux Jatoi, President SDWA Dr Mujhtaba Memon and others. In the meeting, current situation regarding arrest of young doctors of Punjab was reviewed. After a thoughtful deliberation, it has been unanimously agreed that the doctors of Sindh shall show solidarity with the doctors of Punjab. In July 2 press conference, four demands were put forwarded and an ultimatum of 48 hours was given.It was decided that in the meeting that ultimatum deadline is going to be expired on July 4. In case of non-fulfillment of demands, the meeting decided to shutdown OPDs initially for two hours throughout Sindh.
