ISLAMABAD - Federal Minister of Law and Justice Farooq H.Naek has stated that Supreme Court orders on missing persons in Balochistan must be implemented in true letter and spirit.

Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf, taking stock of the law and order situation in Balochistan had asked the Federal Law Minister to convene a meeting of all the concerned authorities.

Therefore, a meeting in this regard was held at the Law Ministry in the Chairmanship of Farooq H Naek on Tuesday.

Chief Minister Balochistan, Secretary Defence, Secretary Interior, Secretary Law, Chief Secretary Balochistan, IGFC Balochistan, IG Police Balochistan, Advocate General Balochistan and other high ranking officers of the concerned Ministries attended the meeting.

During the meeting, the Law Minister laid stress on implementation of Supreme Court’s directions concerning missing persons. The said direction in respect of Defence Secretary, Interior Secretary, Chief Secretary Balochistan, IG Police Balochistan contained a reminder to State functionaries to fulfil the Constitutional obligations.

Farooq H.Naek after a detailed briefing from the relevant officials issued instructions and guidelines to ensure the compliance of the directions of Supreme Court in true letter and spirit.

Moreover, he constituted a Sub-Committee under the Chairmanship of Chief Secretary Balochistan to look into the matter and ordered it to complete its task by July 6th the date on which another meeting will be convened.

Naek further conveyed the desire of the Prime Minister to the officials of Government of Balochistan in ensuring safety of life and protection of property of the public.
