PARIS  -  TS   -  The pop star and the Nickelback frontman exchanged vows in the South of France on Monday. They headed to Cannes with around 100 guests on Saturday, tying the knot two days later at the Chateau La Napoule in Mandelieu. Explaining why they decided to jet to Europe, Avril told Hello! magazine: “I wanted to make sure it’s a crazy vacation and an experience of a lifetime for our guests. “I wanted it to be over the top. I’m obsessed with castles and I love French decor and goth. “I found this castle in France and we visited it and it was perfect.” Avril wore a black tulle Monique Lhuillier gown for her second trip down the aisle.  The Complicated singer was previously wed to Sum 41 rocker Deryck Whibley, but they split up in 2009 after three years of marriage. Chad – best known for Nickelback hits How You Remind Me and Rockstar – spent six years with former common-law wife Marianne Goriuk before they separated in May 2011. The couple stunned fans last August when they announced their engagement following a whirlwind romance. The unlikely duo fell in love while working together on a tune for Avril’s upcoming fifth studio album – the follow-up to her 2011 collection Goodbye Lullaby. At the age of 38, Chad is 10 years older than his new wife.
