SANGLA HILL - Nankana Sahib DCO Dr Usman Ali Khan has directed the officers concerned to keep a vigilant eye on the prices and take strict action against profiteers on the spot in order to ensure rule of the law and facilitate public.

He said that the district government would deal sternly with the elements involved in profiteering and hoarding. He warned that no one would be allowed to create problem for the public in the holy month of Ramazan. He inspected price lists during the visit to Sasta Ramazan Bazaar in Nankana Sahib vegetable market here the other day.  Talking to this scribe on the occasion, he said that arrangements had been improved at Ramazan bazaars than previous years and monitoring committees were continuously checking the arrangements. He went on to say the Punjab government would provide edibles to the people at cheaper rates under one roof in every Ramazan Bazaar.

He said that the prices of all edible items available in the bazaars would be cheaper than the ones in open market in Punjab as a result of subsidy the government had seen providing.

He said that a control room had been set up in district administration office where common people could lodge complaints on telephone whereas price control magistrates had been bound to remain present in Ramazan bazaars falling under their jurisdiction so that public complaints could be addressed.

He directed the traders to hang price lists on prominent positions and wholesalers to display banners and boards.
