MULTAN/BAHAWALPUR

The Multan Corps and civil administration jointly sent a massive consignment of relief goods for the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) from North Waziristan here on Thursday. The consignment was dispatched by Commander Logistics Multan Corps Brig Liaqat Ali while DCO Zahid Saleem Gondal was also present on the occasion. The consignment is consisted of 11 truckloads of aid goods weighing over 100 tons. The goods include aatta, rice, milk, ghee, pulses, tea, Rooh Afza, cots, medicines and other daily use items.

Talking to the journalists on this occasion, Brig. Liaqat Ali said that the IDPs left their homes for the success of operation against the terrorists and now it was the duty of entire nation to support them. He declared that the Multan Corps had set up camps for the IDPs at Eidgah Chowk, Lalak Jan Park and Chaman Zar-e-Askari. He pointed out that plenty of dry ration had been sent to the IDPs and now medicines, milk and items needed by women and children like pampers were needed.

Meanwhile, Bahawalpur Garrison Commander Maj Gen Sadiq Ali dispatched a convoy of relief goods trucks to Bannu for IDPs of North Waziristan Agency, as per the golden tradition of Army. The relief goods include edibles (Atta, Sugar, Tea, Milk Powder, Rice, Cookies Oil, Biscuits and Mineral Water) and clothes. People from all segment of life, society, officer and Jawans of Bahawalpur Corps generously contributed for the aid of IDPs.
