Pak Prof wins Award of

Excellence in India

LAHORE (PR):  Dr Mohammad Rafiq Khan , Professor of Environmental Sciences, Lahore School of Economics won “Award of Excellence in Research” in Science and Technology Awards 2014 , organised by India’s largest Research and Branding Company Education Expo TV. Twenty one individuals from all over the world were declared winners whereas four awards were preserved for excellence research purposes.

 The winners of best research award included two Indians, one Malaysian and one Pakistani Dr. Mohammad Rafiq Khan, Professor of Environmental Sciences Lahore School of Economics. Rector UMT Dr. Hassan Sohaib Murad and Director General Abid H K Shirwani congratulated Dr. Mohammad Rafiq for his extra-ordinary performance and achieving research award from India.

Coca-Cola donation for IDPs

LAHORE (PR):  Coca-Cola Pakistan announced its programme to provide relief to Internally Displaced People of North Waziristan. Coca-Cola has pledged Rs 10 million towards this humanitarian crisis, providing assistance to those affected by the military operation. By certain estimates, more than half a million people have been displaced and the number continues to grow.  Coca-Cola will partner with Jahandad Society for Community Development providing life-saving assistance to thousands affected by the operation. 

Provisions include emergency shelter, water and staple food items that will offer immediate relief and protection to those forced from their land.

Synchronize Media launches Consumer Connections System

Huawei joins 5G Association

LAHORE (PR):  Huawei has announced that it has been elected to join the board of the 5G Infrastructure Association in Europe at the General Assembly held in Bologna on June 26th. Huawei will be represented on the Board by Dr. David Soldani of Huawei European Research Centre.

The 5G Infrastructure Association represents the private party of the 5G Public and Private Partnership (5G-PPP),a €1.4 billion joint initiative.

Damas Jewellers signs MoU

Lahore (PR): A leading jewellery and watch retailer, has signed an MoU with Pink Ribbon Pakistan for a month Ramazan campaign to assist on Breast Cancer Awareness and announced its intention to contribute in the construction of state-of-the-art Pink Ribbon facility in Lahore. Positive outlook to SBL

KARACHI (PR):  JCR-VIS has maintained the entity ratings of Sindh Bank Limited (SBL) at ‘AA-/A-1+’ (AA Minus/A One Plus). Outlook on the assigned ratings has been revised from Stable to Positive.

Ratings take into account the profile of sponsor, with entire shareholding vested with the Government of Sindh (GoS).

The bank features a high level of Capital Adequacy Ratio; given the bank’s growth plans, capitalization is expected to remain strong over the foreseeable horizon, assuming no material deterioration in asset quality.

Waste Busters in Quetta

LAHORE (PR): Lahore-based waste management company, Waste Busters, to remove an estimated 30,000 metric ton of garbage of Quetta city. The waste is accumulated in various open areas around the city. Waste Busters is the pioneer waste management Pakistani company that has ISO 9001 certification and has plans to expand its network to 500 union councils of the country.

Quetta Municipal Corporation under the supervision of the Chief Minister’s office signed contract to the said company upon their satisfactory arrangements.
