ISLAMABAD - Chief of his own faction of Muslim League Ejazul Haq called on Prime Minister Mohammad Nawaz Sharif here at the Prime Minister’s House on Thursday and discussed with him the overall political situation in the country.

Sources in government informed The Nation that the meeting was part of the exercise being carried out by the Prime Minister to woo the support of all the political parties on host of issues including the ongoing military operation in North Waziristan Agency.

The sources aware of the deliberations of the meeting informed that both the leaders, the yesteryears friends, had discussed the military operation, the massive challenge of handling the IDPs and the imminent threat to the incumbent political dispensation from PTI and other elements calls for agitation.

“The meeting with Haq was part of a series of the meetings that Nawaz has started with various political leaders,” a source in the Prime Minister House said.

Haq assured full support to the government in overcoming current challenges and showed his willingness to do his best in order to secure the greater national interest.

He also reposed full confidence in Prime Minister Sharif’s leadership.
