LAHORE - The FIA Immigration authorities on Thursday claimed to have arrested a passenger and recovered nine Indian passports from his possession at Allama Iqbal International Airport, said spokesman of the agency.

Adnan Ali, a resident of Sialkot (Belgium National) traveling by flight Ek-623 Austria via Dubai, was intercepted by FIA officials during baggage search. The immigration staff recovered 9 forged British passports in the names of Indian National Sikhs.

The passenger was offloaded and sent to anti Human Trafficking Cell (AHTC), FIA Lahore for further action. During preliminary interrogation, the accused revealed the names of agents Hafiz Tariq of Sialkot and Qaiser of Austria, by whom he got the passports prepared. A case has been registered against him and the officials were also conducting raids to arrest the agents.
