Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf Lakki General Secretary Ahmad Nawaz has called upon Chief Minister Parvez Khattak to approve a comprehensive uplift package for Lakki city aimed to end deprivation of the residents of urban locality. Talking to The Nation here on Thursday, he said that the lawmakers from the district were not interested to launch uplift schemes in Lakki city. He regretted that the urban locality could not get its due share in uplift funds the provincial government allocated for the developmental works on the request of MPs. He said the residents of Lakki were faced with numerous problems in water supply, sanitation, roads and communication and other sectors. 

He revealed the lawmakers allocated huge chunk of funds for installation of pressure pumps to appease individuals. "To launch community-based uplift schemes is not the priority of MPAs and MNA from the district," he added. He asked the quarters concerned of government to keep a check on utilisation of developmental funds and ensure its transparent utilisation. He said the comprehensive uplift package if approved by the chief minister would bring development to the urban locality.
