Railways to run special trains on Eid-ul-Fitr

ISLAMABAD (APP): The Pakistan Railways would run special Eid trains on the auspicious occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr to facilitate passengers across the country.  The administration of Pakistan Railways was working on the plan and a final decision in this regard would be made during the next week, a senior official in the Ministry of Railways said. He said Railways had run four Eid special trains during the last year to facilitate the passengers who belong to far flung areas and wanted to celebrate Eid with their beloved ones.  “This year we are planning to run more than four trains on Eid and comprehensive advertisement would be made in this regard to bring it in the knowledge of passengers,” he said. 


He said that the trains are likely to run from Quetta, Rawalpindi, Karachi, Lahore and Peshawar. This move would also enable railways to generate extra income.  Pakistan Railways, he said has taken several steps to facilitate the passengers as railways is cheaper mode of transportation for general public.
