DASKA

The Daska City Police have registered a case against eight push-cart vendors for refusing to set up stall in Sasta Ramazan Bazaar established by the Tehsil Municipal Administration (TMA).

Case (No.583/2014) has been registered under sections 186 and 506 PPC on the report of Aftab Ahmed Bajwa (Enforcement Inspector Daska TMA). According to the FIR, vendors including Atif Abdul Ghaffoor, Nazir Muhammad Hussain, Shaukat Ali, Mithu, Rana Shahid, Mushtaq Butt, Anwar Malik and Abbas had created encroachments while displaying their carts (Rehries) in Daska city’s congested Fawara Chowk.

On the other hand, the vendors told newsmen that the Daska TMA had implicated them in false cases for refusing to set up stalls at Sasta Ramazan Bazaar, saying that Daska TMA officials intended to forcibly take them to Ramazan Bazaar against their will. They refused to go and join the Ramzan Bazaar due to which the Daska TMA had got them implicated in the false case as a punishment.

They pointed out that they were doing business to earn living for their family and it was their right to do business where they deemed appropriate.

The victims have urged the Commissioner Gujranwala Division Khawaja Shamail Ahmed and Sialkot DCO Iftikhar Ali Sahu to take serious notice of the issue and to save them from the clutches of the Daska TMA.
