One killed in grenade attack

PESHAWAR - A person was killed and two others sustained injuries when unknown persons hurled hand grenade in custom square jurisdiction of Peshtakhara police station on Sunday afternoon.

Police said that unknown persons hurled hand grenade near a shoes house in customs square which resulted killing of a person Ashfaq, son of Ghulam Mohammad and injured two persons identified as Safiullah, son of Jehanzeb and Jehanzeb, son of Noor Islam. The injured were shifted to Lady Reading Hospital Peshawar where they are stated to be stable.

Heavy contingent of police rushed to the site and cordoned off the area. They collected evidences and launched search operation for the arrest of the assailants. Police registered FIR and started investigation.
