Naqeebullah murder case: ATC resumes hearing

The Anti-Terrorism Court in Karachi resumed hearing of Naqeebullah murder case on Wednesday. 

The main accused, former SSP Malir Rao Anwar, requested the court for bail in the murder case. Anwar along with other accused persons appeared before the court today.  

Earlier, on June 14, the court had adjourned the hearing on the former SSP Malir’s bail plea till today. 

Anwar had denied any involvement in Naqeebullah’s murder and said he will be proven innocent in the case. 

He claimed that record was available that proves that he neither caught Naqeebullah nor killed him.

He remarked, "I have been nominated in the wrong case, adding that the case against him was taken up due to professional jealousy.

Anwaar along with his 11 subordinates are accused of killing Naqeebullah Mehsud, a shopkeeper and an aspiring model, and three others during a fake encounter in Karachi’s Malir area earlier, on January 13, this year.
