LPG price up by Re 1 ahead of budget

KARACHI (APP) - LPG marketing companies have again increased the price of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) by Re 1 to Rs 55 per kilogram in Karachi without citing any reason. LPG price has been raised by Rs 1.50 to Rs 59.50 in Punjab and by Rs 2 to Rs 65 in NWFP. Chairman LPG Distributors Association Hadi Khan said here on Tuesday that this increase, second in less than a week, was without any reason. The retail price of 11.8 cylinder is up by Rs 10 to Rs 580 in Sindh while it is Rs 625 in Punjab. He pointed out that LPG marketing companies have increased LPG prices by Rs 10 per kilogram in less than a month, raising price of 11.8 kg cylinder by Rs 100 and 45.4 kg cylinder by Rs 400. Hadi alleged that marketing companies were trying to again link LPG prices with Saudi Aramco Contract Price under a planned strategy.
