KURRAM AGENCY - Atleast eight persons including two children were killed and seven others got injured due to a high intensity land mine explosion here on Tuesday. According to details, a pickup was hit by a high intensity land mine planted by unknown persons on Katcha Road near Mandra when it was on its way from Naryab to Sadda, the second biggest town of Kurram Agency. Most of the deceased died on the spot. So far no one has claimed the responsibility in this respect. It merits mentioning that sectarian clashes have been going on all over Kurram Agency since November last and more than 350 persons have been killed so far. The government has recently apprehended 50 members of the jirga belonging to both Shiite and Sunni sects, following its failure of fixing responsibility for the violation of cease-fire. The elders from Shiite and Sunni sects and 15 mediators from adjacent Hangu district have refused to sign the stereotype text of a decision that is prepared by high-ups of the government institutions. The government a couple of days ago announced reshuffling of the administration in Kurram Agency, following the failure of Political Agent Zaheerul Islam to resolve the issue.
