Nizami acting as patron of Kashmiri people: Josh

LAHORE - Hafiz Abdur Rahman Makki, Centarl Leader of Jamaat-ud-Dawa, has appealed to the Kashmiri leaders for not indulging in minor political issues but to struggle for the freedom of Kashmir. Makki sounded disappointed on the role of international organisations to settle the dispute of Kashmir and Palestine while addressing a seminar on Palestine, Kashmir Dispute, and the Role of World Organisations held at Hameed Nizami Hall here on Thursday. Former Member of Pakistan Occupied Kashmir Assembly Muhammad Shafi Josh was the other guest speaker. Speaking on the occasion, Josh said after the death of Allama Iqbal it is Majid Nizami who is rendering his services as a real patron of the Kashmiri people in Pakistan. He said Nawa-i-Waqt group also helped the needy and displaced people of Kashmir financially. He said the United Nations resolutions on Kashmir were the only solution to the dispute, which provided opportunity of right to self-determination to the Kashmiri people. He said until the settlement of Kashmir issue, the issue of Northern Areas, Ladakh and Jammu should not be touched and their status should be kept intact. He said Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah had trust in Muslims Conference and Ghulam Abbass but after his unfortunate death in the initial years of Pakistan, army started playing with destiny of the nation. He said an atomic, democratic and united Pakistan could better fight not only for the cause of Kashmir but also for settling all the world issues including Palestine. He said the past and the present government could not struggle for Kashmir and it were the people of Pakistan whose hearts beat with those of the Kashmiris. Hafiz Abdur Rahman said the international organisations never did anything to settle the disputes affecting the Islamic world. He narrated the history of Noorud-din-Zungi, Salahuddin Ayubi and Caliph Abdul Hameed of Turkey and wished the same role to be played by the present Muslim leaders. He paid tribute to Turkey for sending aid ships to the besieged Gazans but at the same time, he said, demonstrations in Stockholm against Israel were also worth appreciation. He urged the Christians of the world not to support the terrorist acts of Israel. He assured of an early solution to the Kashmir and Palestine issues as, in his views, now the matter was taken up by the Muslim masses instead of the world powers.
