Gold, cash looted

HAFIZABAD - More than ten dacoits stormed into the house of a villager in Vanike Tarar and took away gold ornaments worth Rs1.3 million here the other night. The Vanike Tarar Police have registered a case against the culprits and have launched investigation. According to the police, 10 armed bandits intruded into the house of Fazal Ahmad and made off with 12 tolas of gold ornaments, Rs0.7 million and other valuables. Heroin, liquor seized: The City police conducted raids at 3 different places and seized 120 grams of heroin, 20 litres liquor and one pistol. On a tip-off, the police carried out raids in Basti Isaian, Farooq-i-Azam Road and Jurian and arrested Sohail Barket, Sarfraz and Muhammad Asif. Man drowns in canal: A 25-year-old man of Chhani Ghulla was drowned in the Qadirabad Balloki Link Canal near Qadirabad Barrage here the other day. According to Rescue-1122, Kamran Iqbal was swimming in the canal when he drowned. His friends informed the Rescue 1122 which rushed to the spot. The body was recovered by Rescue team after 2 hours search.
