Federal Finance Minister Dr Abdul Hafeez Sheikh on Saturday said the government realises the miseries of flood affected people and was doing everything for their facilitation. He said the government needed funds for their rehabilitation and it was everyones responsibility to pay taxes so that positive change could be brought in the lives of the millions affected. In response to a question during the post budget 2011-12 press conference in Islamabad, Sheikh said the floods had damaged around 1.6 million houses in different areas of country last year, beside affecting the standing crops and killing live stock. The floods had caused losses of more than 10 billion dollars.
