LAHORE Finally, life threats became fate of job-seeking students who were promised positions by impersonators in esteemed organisations of the country. Many of the cheated guys are now running pillar to post, as provincial top cops and other high-ups did nothing to address their grievances. A mafia impersonating as Personal Assistants to Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif and other top government functionaries including Judges, MPAs and Ministers in connivance with their friends looted millions of rupees from the job-hungry college students by issuing them fake appointment letters of different law-enforcement agencies such as Federal Investigation Agency, police, S&GAD and Sui Northern Gas. The fraudulent persons swindled the innocent unemployed students by posing themselves as the PAs to Federal Interior Minister Rehman Malik, special assistant to retired Supreme Court Judge Khalil-ul-Rehman Ramday and PA to MPA Arshad Jutt, hailing from Cheechawanti. After receiving bribe in millions, the accused issued fake appointment letters to innocents including three letters of Assistant Sub-Inspectors in FIA, two in Sui Northern Gas Department, two in police department and one in Services and General Administration Department. Interestingly, police station concerned even after lodging an FIR have further added to the miseries of the victims by advising them to pay repeated visits to the officers concerned. The victims were identified as Mehboob Ali, Zohaib Ali, Sufian, Ali, Mohammad Sanawal, Bilal, two relatives of one Mohammad Abbas, Arsalan and Kamran. The victims, who have suffered monetary loss, are now receiving life threats by the accused. According to details, the accused Abdul Farooq, a resident of Chak No-109-7R, Tehsil Cheechawanti, Sahiwal, informed his former classfellow Mehboob Ali, now a resident of Ho-362, St-23/A, Zaraar Shaheed Roads Usman Block that he was enjoying lavish life as he had been appointed as ASI in the FIA. My brother Abdul Rauf is Personal Secretary to Shahbaz Sharif and he sits in GOR-1, 8-Club Road, who got me appointed by using his strong bureaucratic connections, an application said, who has submitted a complaint to CM Complaint Cell. It further says accused Frooq issued four fake appointment letters to one Mehboob and his friends after receiving huge bribe from them. According to Mehboob, the accused issued letters as: Mehboob Ali, ASI FIA, Zohabi, ASI FIA, Sufian, ASI FIA, Ali, ASI FIA, Mohammad Sanawal, employee in Sui Gas, Bilal, a Sui Gas clerk, two constables, Arsalan and Kamran, were given appointment letters as clerks in S&GAD. Later, when the scam surfaced, the accused was arrested by Sandha police station where a Moharrar Amjad allegedly released Farooq after receiving a check (CA13936867) worth over Rs 5, 04, 000, which he handed to the victims. According to application, the Moharrar endorsed the accused as PA to Chief Minister of the Punjab and a close relative of Rehman Malik. Dont worry. I know Farooq as he belongs to my village, Mehboob quoted Moharrar as having said. The cheque was dishonoured resultantly an FIR (489-F) was lodged against the accused, who was later declared as a proclaimed offender. During preliminary inquiries conducted by Chief Ministers Media Coordinator Malik Ali Ahmed Khan where the relations of Member of Punjab Assembly Arshad Jutts PA Farooq with one Aitzaz, a close friend of drivers of Justice Khalil-ul-Rehman Ramday namely Maqsood Watto and Safdar Watto established but no action has been taken so far. After severe disappointment, the victims appeared thrice in open courts of IG Punjab Javed Iqbal. They also contacted Deputy Secretary Aamir Ghazi and Director Chief Minister Complaint Cell Major (r) Aftab Ahmed but no officer took keen interest nor the accused were arrested till filing of this report. When contacted, a couple of the victims, requesting not to be named, claimed they were being intimidated by various channels with advice to remain mum otherwise they might suffer.
