NANKANA SAHIB - The traders have flayed the ineptitude and indifference on part of the Fesco officials for not repairing a faulty transformer which resulted in the gutting of shops, dealing a severe blow to the shopkeepers. They have urged the Fesco/Wapda authorities to take notice of the incident and ensure compensation to the affected shopkeepers. They also demanded the authorities to ensure that such incidents are averted and overcome in the future. According to detail, a meeting of the traders association and effected shopkeepers was held here at the office of Markazi Anjuman-e-Tajran General Secretary Sh Shahid Mahmood to condemn the fire incident that caused huge losses to nearby shopkeepers. The traders condemned the negligence on the part of the Fesco official who didnt repair or replace the oil-leaking transformer on busy Railway Road in front of Anarkali Bazaar despite several request time and again. It is to be noted that on May 28, at around 2:30 pm the faulty oil-leaking transformer caught fire, burning two photo studios and causing huge losses to the owners. The timely efforts by rescue 1122 saved other shops by halting the fire from spread.
