ISLAMABAD- Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan spoke to Governor Sindh Ishratul Ebad on telephone today and inquired after the health of the MQM chief.
According to an official spokesman, the two assured Ebad of Federal government's full cooperation on the matter relating to Hussain's arrest and his ill health.
The premier said Hussain was a Pakistani citizen, adding that the government would do everything in its power to safeguard the MQM chief's interests. The two also prayed for Hussain's health.
Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan said the Federal government will remain in touch with Governor Sindh regarding the case.
Hussain was arrested by the British police on Tuesday on suspicion of money-laundering. He was arrested in NorthWest London where he has been living in self-imposed exile since 1992.
