Former president of Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf Makhdoom Javed Hashmi has accused his former party of committing widespread rigging in recent local government election in KPK and demanded the government to constitute a commission to investigate into the rigging allegations.

Talking to a group of political activists here on Wednesday, he added that KPK government was responsible for bloodshed and law and order situation during local government election as it was government’s responsibility to maintain peace. He said that on one hand Imran Khan talked about rigging in 2013 general elections and got constituted judicial commission while on other hand his own government rigged local government polls publicly. “Even provincial minister and members of PTI fled with ballot boxes. Now it has become imperative to set up a commission comprising impartial members to investigate into rigging allegations,” he asserted.

He said that he personally knew ANP leader Mian Iftikhar Hussain and he could not kill anyone. “How a person, whose own son was murdered, can kill anyone. Murder case against him is a vindictive action. He always does neat and clean politics,” he added. Hashmi demanded immediate withdrawal of case against Mian Iftikhar.
